Fifteen clean and comfortable suites are available as follows:
Not a B&B, yet cozy and delightful! Some of the suites have private entryways off a large covered outdoor walkway. Others are accessed from an interior lobby. All the one bedroom units are located on the first floor of the two-level building, while the two bedroom and three bedroom suites are on the second floor.
Each suite has living (with TV and DVD player) and dining rooms, fully equipped kitchens and a patio which is private and not open to neighboring units. The entire facility has wireless Internet service, and some of the suites are outfitted with gas fireplaces and whirlpool tubs.
Accommodations are uniquely decorated and privately owned (by people who rent them to travelers). The three bedroom suite is a rare find, especially in this part of Ephraim. Here, it’s a two story unit with two bedrooms on the first floor and one upstairs alongside a bathroom with a whirlpool tub. There is a television viewing room on the upper level, too.
Many of the units have second bedrooms in an open loft space. This gives the suite a feeling of openness and affords guests the opportunity to enjoy natural light coming in the unit from the living room below.
Speaking of nature, the grounds at the Ephraim Guest House feature colorful flower beds, vibrant green plants and healthy bushes, trees and grassy areas. It’s a delight to truly just walk around the gray cedar building and check out the flowers and plants that have been labeled by one of the suite owners.
There are two water fountains on the property, too, and it’s restful to hear them bubbling from some of the accommodations. The Ephraim Guest House also offers guests an outdoor whirlpool, a pond with outdoor seating and picnic and gas grilling areas.
Location, Location, Location!
The location is convenient for walking to restaurants (Chef’s Hat, Post Office Restaurant and Second Story), the waterfront and some shops and galleries.
The manager likes to recommend that guests traverse historic and nearby Moravia Street and that they go kayaking, boating and bicycling.
The Ephraim Guest House seems to be in harmony with Ephraim itself. It’s comfortable in its own skin, a tad laid back and true to its essence. And they have some limited winter hours too!
