Tradition
Fish Boils date back to the early settlers of Door County. Most Door
County Fish Boils include a whitefish that has been boiled up in a huge
pot over a roaring flame. The fish is them skimmed out, and served with
boiled potatoes, cole slaw and other side dishes, and usually is topped
off with a slice of cherry pie for desert! The fish boil is as much an
event as it is a dinner! Out back, there is a huge fire going, and a fish
boil master dumping in the salt and the fish and stoking the fire with
kerosene to really get that kettle a-boiling! And the diners are witness
to it all! Sit outside and enjoy the show – this really is as much
a par to f it as eating! Here are some of the places to get a fish boil

The White
Gull Inn is an elegant inn and an elegant restaurant! They offer fish
boils several days a week – check with the Inn but the last sign
we read said Wed, Fri, Sat and Sundays! Call ahead for reservations before
you even get to Door County – like now! It gets booked pretty fast!
This is our favorite place because of the atmosphere of the inn, the great
fish boil event, and the food!
