Sunsets from Egg Harbor Dock

Well, here is another Door County Gem, in our “Where to Watch Sunsets” category! Door County has wonderful, spectacular sunsets from many vantage points. But one of the best places for watching sunsets is Egg Harbor – we mean the real Egg Harbor! Yes, go down by the water to the actual harbor, walk along the dock, sit and watch. It is some kind of view you won’t forget!

From the main road (Hwy 42), you can park across the street from Shipwrecked (there is a parking lot), which is on the side of the building that The Chocolate Chicken is in (great place, by the way – grab a cup of coffee before you head down to the harbor). Or you can park on the street, or walk down to the water through Harbor View Park.

Whichever way you get there, get there for at least one sunset. The vantage point is unique, the sail boats are bobbing in the water, people are everywhere smiling and talking to each other and marveling in the beauty of nature, and, there might even be a sailboat out on the water with the sunset as a backdrop. It’s hard to beat.

We enjoyed this sunset there in July. Truly awesome and awe-inspiring. Have a fabulous time! Door County is full of Gems!
