This is a great spot for espresso and coffee, food, entertainment – and the bonus is that it’s a shop all around you filled with wonderful things!
Well, we drove past the Door County Outpost many times, and finally stopped in to see what it was all about. And, we are happy that we did, because we know that DoorCountyNavigator.com users will want to know about this unique place in Egg Harbor.
Walk in and you feel at home in this cozy and warm log building, in a serene setting. There is an inside balcony as well. One afternoon, we stopped in for a cup of coffee and a snack. We had coffee and a cheese and hummus platter that was spectacular – with lots of varieties of cheeses. On another occasion, we stopped for a cheese, tomato and mozzarella panini (the Roma) – awesome!
ESPRESSO, TEAS, JUICES and MORE
Get great fresh-brewed coffee, a café au lait, espresso, Americano, cappuccino, latte, caramel or mocha latter, a unique Choco Bomb which has espresso, white or dark chocolate with flavored milk and whipped cream atop! Or how about a Red Eye with two shots of espresso with coffee? Or just cozy up with a Sunshine Bomb which is espresso with frothed cream. Of course, they have decaf items as well!
If a cup o’ Joe is not your cup of tea, then get some tea! Door County Outpost has loose leaf tea, China and Indian (black, red, white and herbal). And yes, Chai Tea Latte, hot chocolate and a Boston Steamer which is steamed milk with your choice of flavored syrup (like vanilla, amaretto, rum, cherry, Irish Cream and more).

Other refreshments in the drink arena include iced coffees and teas, Italian Sodas, espresso and ice blended into a Frappe, and smoothies.
The Eats
As we said, we have dined here a couple of times already and have enjoyed it immensely. Also check with their website to see what is currently being offered, as sometimes menu items change. But this will give you a great idea about what Door County Outpost offers.
Choose from their signature panini’s like the Tuscany Panini which includes Prosciutto Ham, fresh mozzarella cheese, Roma tomatoes with baby green – all accented with pesto may with pine nuts. Or take the Roma (which we enjoyed) which has sliced Roma tomato, fresh mozzarella cheese, fresh basil and basil pesto mayo with pine nuts. Yummy.
You can get breakfast sandwiches too, toasted bagels, Kashi cereal and lots of great bakery. You can also choose from orange juice, organic juices or teas, and more.
Appetizers offered include a cheese board (yummy) which includes a great selection of varietal and artisinal chesses, served with dried fruits, nuts, and herb toast. We combined this with the hummus offering (see picture) for a spectacular mid-afternoon snack for two. You can also get bruschetta, spring greens salad, a fresh fruit salad, or even a cranberry orange salad.
Or jump to a deli sandwich, from their house specialty Quesanini House Special which comes with either beef or chicken, melted with cheese grilled on a soft tortilla with mild red onion, and sweet peppers – served up with salsa and sour cream on the side. Or choose turkey, beef on rye, ham and cheese, or one of a variety of wraps.
Desserts simple and to the point – pies (including seasonal choices from berry to cherry, apple, pumpkin etc.), to chocolate or Angel cakes, served with berries and whipped cream.
