Young at Heart Pottery Painting
7828 Hwy 42
(Main Street Shops)
Egg Harbor WI
920-868-5047

Young at Heart Pottery Painting opened in Egg Harbor in 2010, and is located within the Main Street Shops right in downtown Egg Harbor.  At Young at Heart Pottery Painting, people of all ages can select and paint ceramics and pottery that they will remember and cherish always!  This is a fun and happy place!

Enter the shop and you'll find about 8 picnic tables that serve as your work area, and lots of shelves of ready-to-paint ceramics, like tea pots, vases, plates, cups, serving dishes, bowls, goblets, toothbrush holders, soap dispensers, frames, heart boxes, animals, trophies and lots more.  Lots of both useful and whimsical items.

Kids and adults love this place because everyone who comes here comes to have fun and use their imagination.  In fact, Young at Heart Pottery Painting's tagline is "We bring your imagination to life!"  Just before we reviewed the place, Aaron Mackie, the owner along with his wife, told me that an older couple was there painting a teapot - each year they make a piece of art together somewhere, decorate it and write the date on it so they will always remember.  How sweet!

On nice days, you can take your artist talents outside because there are another4 or 5 tables out there on the lawn, waiting for you.

You can stay as long as you like to complete your piece, and when you are finished with it, give it to Aaron or one of the staff and they will prepare it for firing, fire it for you, and you can pick it up in 48 hours - complete and ready to use!

We liked the layout of the shop with the wooden picnic tables, with brushes and paint holders ready to go.  It looks warm and inviting - you just want to sit down and get started!  All the pieces on the shelves have prices clearly marker on the bottom, ranging in prices from about $10 to some pieces (like a large ceramic tic-tac-toe board and pieces at about $100 or so.  In addition, there is a shop fee of about $7 for children, $9 for adults which covers all your paints, glazing and firing.

Saturday Date Night!

Aaron told us that he is sponsoring Saturday Date Nights, where parents can come and drop their kids off (ages 4 and up) between 6 PM and 9 PM, and they can paint and have a great time while you the parents can go to dinner, a movie, the theater or whatever.  Great concept!  Aaron tells us there will be plenty of staff on hand to watch and assist the kids as well as a security camera as well.  We like the concept, so check it out - it's the only place we know in Door County we know of doing this.  And after all, everyone's Young at Heart!

Young at Heart Pottery Painting is also a great spot for a group outing, a birthday, anniversary, kid's party, corporate outings, bridal or baby showers, teacher's gifts or holiday fun!  Think creatively, and be creative at Young at Heart Pottery Painting!

So make Young at Heart Pottery Painting part of your next trip to Door County and bring your family, friends, spouse or whoever - because you will all have fun here!  And please tell Aaron and the crew that DoorCountyNavigator.com sent you!
