Pelletiers Restraurant and Fish Boil We have dined here many times, and find the staff friendly and the food always consistently good. Fish Creek is getting to be a real dining destination! And if you want to sample some Door County tradition, Pelletier’s does a fish boil nightly in high season – at about 5 PM. So, any night you want to head over for an interesting dinner, where you can watch the master boilers cooking the fish out back, then enjoy eating it, head to Pelletier’s! Matthew, one of the owners and the Master Boiler told us that he meets the boats in the morning to get fresh whitefish from the lake, and prepares the fish for the boil – so this is not restaurant-bought fish already cleaned and chunked – this is fresh Lake Michigan whitefish. Reservations are definitely recommended for this. The restaurant interior is pleasant, with wooden booths, wood beam accents on the ceiling, tables, and a genuine homey feeling to the place. While large, and if crowded a little noisy, you still feel like family there. We love it.
The club sandwich, ordered by another in our review party, was equally delicious. We ordered soups and other items as well, and each was well done. We know you will enjoy this place. We have dined here for breakfast too, but we have not yet experienced the fish boil for dinner – just photographing it! Pelletier’s MenuThe breakfast menu (you can see the full menus online in our “Menu, please!” section) includes country style breakfasts with eggs and omelets, Swedish pancakes with lingonberries (one of my personal favorites) and Door County cherry pancakes (a must), French toast, Belgian Waffles and more. You can even get French crepes for your breakfast meal, or dessert crepes that include Door County cherry, apples and more. Not too many places serving authentic French crepes in Door County, so head on in here if you would like some. Oo-la-la – they are good. Of course, bakery items made from scratch are available, great coffee, the usual side orders of sausage, ham bacon and so on.
Dinners include the fish boil, nightly, as mentioned. But if you are not into fish boils, or want something else, Pelletier’s offers other dinner items as well, like baked chicken, BBQ ribs and more. There’s a children’s dinner menu too – yes – this is a family-friendly place for sure! Visit their website for the latest, as items on menus can change without notice. So whether for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a quick bakery item (the muffins are a nice snack to take and go), we think you will enjoy Pelletier’s! Please tell Matt and the staff that DoorCountyNavigator.com sent you! And tell us what you think!
