We had a delightful meal at the Mission Grille!

The Mission Grille in Sister Bay occupies what once was a church from 1912 until 1984. The shape of the building itself, and a pew serve as reminders of its past. In 1989, it became the Mission Grille!

When you walk in, you the veranda is to the right, and straight ahead you enter the restaurant, and see the beautiful bar. 

There is also a great outdoor seating area. The main dining hall is elegant, done up in a deep rose, with topiaries with white lights gracing the room. Even though it appears formal, you get a very comfortable feeling in the dining room -fine casual dining. There's also the Jazz Room, with mustard colored walls for more seating.

Our review party dined here on the veranda, which has huge casement windows that open up and bring the outdoors in - without the bugs. Nice. Wrought iron tables and chairs, fresh flowers in a bud vase and a fresh, open and clean feeling. The veranda can seat about 24.

The Menu

The dinner menu offers enough variety to satisfy just about every taste. For example, for starters you can order Bruschetta, Pot Sticker, Bayou Shrimp and more.

Salads like a Caesar or a creative Pear and Goat Cheese, are offered, as well as Lobster Bisque Soup, or a French Onion Soup Gratinee.

Main courses include prime rib, an 8 ounce filet, lamb chops, Mission Stuffed Pork Chops,, roasted duck, a Bistro Chicken which is pan seared and topped with Chevre goat cheese, wilted spinach, artichokes and lemon basil sauce.

Fish and other seafood fares are offered, like Nut Crusted Alaskan Halibut, Grilled Wild Alaskan Salmon or  Mission Crab Risotto Cakes which are Maryland blue crab cakes sautéed and presented with a roasted garlic aioli, with sweet potato mash and Parmesan cream spinach.

Homemade desserts include Crème Brulee, Mudd Pie and Lemon Crisp.  Awesome!

We love the food here, and like the variety of offerings for dinner.  The wine selection at Mission Grille is top notch!  Mission Grille is a Nine-Time Wine Spectator Award Winner, and won Best of Award for Excellence.  See their website for more details.
