Food/Dining : Sister Bay

Sister Bay Bowl
504 N. Bay Shore Dr on Hwy 42
920-854-2841

Sister Bay Bowl is a legend in its own right – this is a unique place where there is a several lane bowling alley (the only one we know of north of Sturgeon Bay), a small bar to service the alley and the restaurant, and a large seating area for the restaurant patrons.

It’s been here forever, and everyone knows about it, including you we are sure! So, yes – it is a great spot! We have had the ribs here, and loved them – tender, spicy, flavorful sauce, nice baked potato. There are many other things on the menu, including chicken dishes, and many fish dishes like lake whitefish.
This place get very crowded in season, so if you are going to go to dinner here, go early – like 5 – 6PM – you might avoid SOME of the crowds, but unlikely. You can wait for your table outside, and they’ll use a pager to call your name. Sometimes, we popped across the street to Husby’s for a beer while we waited for a table, and that was pleasant.

The wait staff is usually friendly and quick to get you what you need, and you will not feel rushed once you are seated, which is nice. The ambience is more like a bowling alley than a country restaurant – nothing fancy for sure – a huge room with two walls of windows looking north and west, and lots and lots of tables – they could not fit in another table if they wanted to!

So, go to Sister Bay Bowl – it is a legend that lives up to the fame, and is an overall very good dining experience. So go, enjoy, and say, "Yes, I’ve been to Sister bay Bowl."
