Food/Dining : Sturgeon Bay

Inn at Cedar Crossing Restaurant
336 Louisiana St.
Sturgeon Bay
920- 743-4249 (dining)

Inn ar Cedar Crossing in Door CountyWe have dined at this charming restaurant several times, and have always enjoyed it. As part of the wonderful Inn at Cedar Crossing B&B, the restaurant has a dining area with oak wainscoting and faux painted walls, and a separate “Fireside Pub” area that seats about 8 at the bar, and has about 5 tables for diners.

This is a kid-friendly restaurant too, and there is a Children’s Menu, which includes Pasta with Red Sauce or Butter, Grilled Cheese, Chicken Breast or a Beef Tenderloin for the discriminating young pallet.

Beginning at about 7AM, you can wander down from your room upstairs at the B&B, or into the door for a scrumptious breakfast.  There are plenty of choices, from quiche, to green eggs and ham to a grilled hazelnut French toast.

For “starters” on the dinner menu, you can choose flashed calamari, Maryland Crab Cakes, Grilled Chicken Satay and other interesting appetizers.

Salads, served with fresh bakery bread, can include a Spinach Apple Bleus – with walnuts and blue cheese, apple slices and more – we loved it!  Other salads offered are melon and Feta, a Cobb, Caesar, Smoked Chicken, and an Inn Salad of mixed greens, tomatoes, cukes, red onions, carrots, sprouts and seasoned croutons.

Of course there are homemade soups, like a “soup of the moment,” and a Black Bean Chili.

The dinner menu includes Pork Scaloppini, Duck Confit, Grilled Choice Cut Ribeye, Broiled Whitefish, Grilled Shrimp and more.  Lots of pastas and other items are available as well, including Shrimp & Angel Hair, Pesto Pizza (love it), Sausage Penne, Quiche of the Day and plenty of other choices.

Creative sandwiches include a Brutus Caesar Wrap (et tu Brute?!), a Cedar Street Reuben, Cilantro-Lime Chicken Salad Croissant, Pastrami with horseradish Brie etc.

We have dined here many times, and have always enjoyed our meals.  It is consistently good, and the atmosphere is delightful, cozy and reminiscent of calmer times.

Beer and wine is also avaialble. S All the wines are offered by the bottle or by the glass, which we appreciated, and are a mixture of some locally produced wines, California wines, and a smattering world wines from Argentina, Ital or Germany.  Some sparkling wines are also offered, by bottle or split.  You will also fine a custom martini menu, offering creative martinis from a Lemon Drop to a Cherry martini.  Stop in!

We have liked our experience each time at the Inn at Cedar Crossing restaurant, and we think you will too. For breakfast, lunch or dinner, we know you will find something you will like a whole lot! So stop on in when you’re in Sturgeon Bay! Or visit their website first right now! Always check for current pricing and selections, of course.
