Food/Dining : Sturgeon Bay

My Sister’s Café
325 N. 3rd St.
Sturgeon Bay
920-743-1991

This little diner-type café serves big food! A local establishment, this café is busy with local folks who are chowing down a big breakfast or a lunch. And we mean big.

My Shipbuilder’s Breakfast came with 2 eggs, toast, ham, bacon or sausage, and 2 pancakes bigger than my head! No kidding – they were thin and huge – about 11 – 12 inches in diameter. And very, very good! I had breakfast at 8 AM and didn’t eat lunch until 3:30. Our other reviewer had the Sally’s Special, which was Kielbasa, onions and potatoes “all fried up together,” with a 2-egg complement! Fantastic!

You can get eggs, pancakes, biscuits and gravy (I was so tempted), blueberry pancakes, cherry delight French toast, omelets of all kinds and more.

Lunch selections included hamburgers, perch sandwiches, plate lunches and salads. How about hot roast beef, or chopped steak or breaded pork tenderloin? Something for just about everyone!

Soups and a whole bunch of other stuff are also available.

This is an easy to miss little spot – it sits inside a building that has about 4 businesses in it, on the west side of the road. If you’re heading north on third Avenue and hit Dal Santo’s restaurant, you missed it!

Casual, friendly dining – you are among friends here; people know each other, chat, have coffee and, oh yes, those huge pancakes (did I mention those?!).

We like this little place that really isn’t so little – since you can choose to sit at the counter, or at one of the many tables in this cute place. Hey, nothing fancy, but good food, friendly service, and pretty darn good prices too! Try it out!
