Once in a while, we find a great place that is tucked away where you probably will never find it unless we point it out. Well, we found another one here in the Baileys Harbor Lakeview Suite!

On the south end of Baileys Harbor, you will find a large yellow home off the road a bit. This home, the home of the owners of this Lakeview Suite, and the Baileys Harbor Ridges Resort, also offers a suite for couples only. The building also houses “A Summer Cottage,” a wonderful antique shop! What a find!

This suite is truly wonderful, and any couple will think so! You just get a sense of peace and quiet, comfort and ease here. So we had to get the word out! In this vaulted ceiling room, a queen bed with wooden headboard provides for your sleeping. The Suite is replete with antiques – like the antique multi-paned window frame that graces the wall horizontally above the bed. Or the antique dresser and mirror from the early 1900’s, as well as the late 1800’s vintage drop-leaf table, and 2 bow-back chairs. Wow!

A double whirlpool adds more comfort to this romantic and elegant place to stay.

A floral couch, with primitive bench serving as a unique coffee table, adds additional cozy seating. A ceiling fan high above offers a cool breeze. A unique, coordinating wing-back chair, framed in dark wood, provides another interest point. Of course, there is a wet bar, microwave, small refrigerator and storage along one wall. A gas fireplace, with a satellite TV/VCR tucked away in a nook above it, completes this wonderful space.

Nice, decorative touches like dried floral arrangements and prints of Cana Island and boats, really enhance the space with charm and grace.

The bathroom has a stand-up shower with double glass doors and a double shower head. Air conditioned, carpeted, and wait – what about the “lake view?”

Walk out on the balcony that overlooks a garden, grass, trees . . . and yes, a view of Kangaroo lake! Take a stroll outside and walk down to the lake, where you will find a pier and row boat available for your use!
