On the “Quiet Side” and on the quiet north end, you will find Baileys Harbor Ridges Resort. With a total of 14 rooms in the lodge, 4 units in the Guest House and an additional 5 cottages, you will definitely find a place of respite or romance here!

We met with the owners and the staff, and took a tour of the lodge first – many of the rooms offer whirlpools!

The Lodge

The Lodge is a two-story, angled building facing the woods with 14 units. We toured many of the offerings so that we could get a good feel for the place. All the rooms have at least a fridge, microwave, coffeemaker and wet bar sink. All have nice, warm artwork on the walls, with some Kari Anderson prints. So here we go!

Room # 1: Whirlpool Suite, King Bed, with Fireplace: Ground Floor
This is a great romantic room, complete with gas fireplace and whirlpool! The main area has leafy stenciling along the ceiling border, and above some light switches, which adds a nice touch of charm and class. A plaid queen sleeper sofa (in green and mauve), mauve carpeting, a coordinating wing back chair, drop-leaf table with two wooden chairs and double whirlpool completes the general area. Then the bedroom sports a king bed, with a nice patchwork quilt in green/rose/floral, green wrought iron lattice and leaf headboard, dresser, small TV and a couple of chairs.

The bathroom was immaculate, with a tiled floor, white with green trim accent pieces, sink with wrap-counter over toilet, and a tub/shower combination with glass shower doors. Very nice.

The kitchen area in this suite has the standard microwave, wet bar sink and fridge, but also has a 2 burner range top. There is also a small sitting area outside the double-glass doors, facing the woods.

If traveling with a larger family or group, there is a door that can connect to an upstairs room (room # 8 – see below). Nice option!

Room # 2: Two- Queen Beds, Ground Floor
This very nice room offers 2 queen beds, draped in the same quilt as above, and same green wrought iron headboards. This room has the same furniture, drop-leaf table and chairs, etc. as above. And also has a small sitting area outside, facing the woods. Nice, clean, comfortable room. Bathroom with stand-up shower. Very nice offering.

Room # 3: King Bed, Ground Floor
Another very nice room, this one with a king bed with a white wrought iron headboard, a loveseat that doubles as a pull-out twin bed (nice feature), a coordinating wing-back chair, nice stenciling once again along the ceiling line and above the patio sliding glass doors, and drop-leaf table and chairs. Patio again has view of the woods. Sink, etc. as above, and bathroom the same as # 2 above

Room # 4: 2 Queens, Ground Floor
Always a nice option, 2 queens, draped in the same quilt as above rooms, another loveseat that serves as a pull-out twin bed too, stenciling is floral this time, along the ceiling line and patio doors, mauve carpeting, wet bar, etc. and drop-leaf table and chairs. The clean bathroom has a stand-up shower with frosted glass door, tiled floor as before, and full vanity with drawers and storage.

Room # 6: 2 Bedroom Whirlpool Suite: Ground Floor
The main room in this 2 Bedroom Suite sports a nautical theme, with lighthouse/sailboat stenciling above the kitchen counter and along the ceiling. A round wooden table and 3 wood and painted bow back chairs are in the kitchen/dining area, and a loveseat doubles as a queen sleeper too – done up in a blue/taupe plaid. A white wicker table (white wicker is always country-cozy!) and matching chair, gas fireplace with TV on the wide mantel above, and a double whirlpool make this a fantastic place to stay!

Bedroom 1 has a queen bed with white metal headboard, with a large floral print quilt, dresser, chair and a view of the road and woods.

Bedroom 2 is furnished the same, but with a white wicker table, and similar view.

The bathroom (there is only one) has a tub/shower combination with glass doors. This is a wonderful suite!

So we walked upstairs to see a couple of the rooms, this time on the upper level.

Room # 12: Queen Bed, Fireplace: Upper Floor
There are 4 rooms similar to this one in the lodge. This one offers a queen bed, loveseat that’s a twin – pull out bed, a gas fireplace with a TV tucked away in the niche above it, and very nice floral stenciling above the fireplace and other areas of the room. The bathroom was similar to the others with a stand-up shower and clean, tiled floor. There is a small balcony overlooking the woods. Very nice.

Room 11: Queen bed, Whirlpool, Fireplace: Upper Floor
This is another lovely room, same as # 12 above, except with a double whirlpool, with floral stenciling around it. The queen bed has the green wrought iron headboard, as do some of the other beds. The sitting area has the gas fireplace, while the bathroom is similar to above.

Room # 10: Upper Floor: Another room with a double whirlpool!

Room # 8: connects with Room # 1 downstairs, Fireplace: Upper Floor.
This room offers one twin bed, a pull-out twin loveseat, and a queen bed. Small balcony overlooking the woods.

Carriage Room: in the Lodge, Corner, Upper Floor
The only room with a name, the Carriage Room is exceptionally nice! You step down into the entrance way, where the room offers a king bed with same quilt as others, a wood four-poster frame, dresser, mirror and more. The Sofa is a queen sleeper, and there is a gas fireplace as well. The bathroom is huge, with a double whirlpool/shower combination and double sink. There’s a sliding door off the main room that leads to a screened-in porch overlooking the woods! Very nice indeed! Sit out there on a summer’s night with a bottle of wine, some Wisconsin cheese – ahh!

Cottages

We took a look at one of the 5 cottages offered to get an idea of what they look like. So we peaked into the 1930’s vintage cottage called, The Loft. Yes – there really is a small loft in this log cabin, and in the loft are 2 twin beds. The exterior walls are full-log construction. The main room has a rocker glider, a fully furnished kitchen (utensils, coffee maker, 4 burner stove etc.), small table and 4 chairs. The cozy bedroom has a queen bed, low ceilings and log walls. A yellow floral quilt brightens up the bed and coordinates nicely with the log walls, while a coordinating curtain serves as the door to the bedroom. With a stand-up shower and log walls, the bathroom completes this offering. This is a very cute, rustic cabin with plenty of amenities while maintaining its original charm.

Off to the Guest House.

Guest House

This Guest House, also on the grounds, offers 4 units: Wintergreen, White Pine, Lake Iris and Wicker. We looked at two units.

Wicker, # 16
Enter a doorway and head upstairs. The hallway is nothing special, but the rooms certainly are! The Wicker offers a king bed, draped in a light, floral quilt done in green and rose. There is a wicker dresser, and also a TV. The bathroom is large, and there you will find awaiting you a double rose-colored whirlpool, and matching bathroom pieces. Ahh- relax after a tough day golfing or shopping! The sitting room has a plaid, sleeper queen sofa, white wicker loveseat, gas fireplace, and a TV tucked in a wall cove. There are nice decorative touches throughout, including a floral wallpaper border along the ceiling, a ceiling fan and more.

White Pine, # 14
This one’s for large families. This is a 2 bedroom suite, with a plaid queen sleeper sofa in the sitting room/entrance, a TV, white wicker furniture, a Ben Franklin-type stove and more. The common areas have a wood plank ceiling, adding to the cozy, warmth of the place.

A fully furnished kitchen, complete with pots, pans, utensils, double stainless steel sink, and a patio off the kitchen with a grill adds to the completeness of this suite.

Bedroom 1 provides a queen bed with wood headboard, lots of closet space and overlooks the parking lot. Nice size room.

Bedroom 2 is the same, with queen bed, but overlooks the woods.

The single bathroom has a shower/tub combo with shower curtain, and crisp tile floor. Very nice. This place offers a lot!

Baileys Harbor Ridges Resort also offers the Cedar View Home, which is a two story 3 bedroom offering which can accommodate up to 10 people, with a double whirlpool, full kitchen and more - and this one overlooks the spectacular Ridges Sanctuary.

Also offered here, and also only 2 blocks from the lake, is the Carriage Suite, which is a second floor suite with a woods view.  King bed, fireplace, double whirlpool, screened balcony and more.  Combine the Cedar View home with the Carriage Suite, and you can accommodate a group of 14 - what a great option.

Our tour complete, we left happy. We really liked what we saw here on the Quiet Side, in Baileys Harbor. Only minutes from the busier side (the bay side), you will find great accommodations here at the Baileys Harbor Ridges Resort, and are only a short distance away from some of Door County’s real gems: The Ridges Sanctuary, and Cave Point (further south).

So definitely check out Baileys Harbor Ridges Resort right now by clicking through to their website; and when you call them, please start off by telling them that you found them on DoorCountyNavigator.com!
