The Ashbrooke is truly an elegant inn in the heart of Egg Harbor, in the French Country motif. Fred and Debi Anderson, the owners and innkeepers, and the previous owners (Jerry & Pat Ploor) have done a wonderful job in creating a warm and friendly atmosphere at the inn. We met with Malia, the office manager, and recently with Fred, and chatted about the inn and took a tour.

Most of the rooms are done in rose-tones, with floral bed quilts and matching window treatments. When you walk into a room, you feel the impact of how well the rooms are decorated and how well they present a complete and consistent décor. We know people who stay here every time they come to Door County, and they just love it!

We were impressed with the details and well-appointed rooms, which truly do make the inn’s “Romantic Elegance” claim absolutely true.

There are several rooms to choose from, like The Ashley with a king or a queen, The Wicker Room with great wicker furniture (with or without a whirlpool), The French Country with four-poster king beds and a double whirlpool, or The Grande Suite which offers 540 square feet of romantic elegance.

While the swimming pool is indoors, it opens onto an outside deck, for lounging in the sun. Pool area includes sauna, a 12-foot spa/whirlpool and adjacent fitness room.

Rates: Always check with the innkeepers on current rates, but as a range, depending on the room and time of year, the range is between $89 and $179.

We like the look and feel of The Ashbrooke, and from our personal tour, we think you will like the inn if you are into a B &B – type place (no breakfasts here), with lots of amenities – one of the gems in Door County. It is conveniently located near some of the best golfing in the County, just about next door to a great breakfast restaurant (The Village Café – see our review), and walking distance to the entire downtown of Egg Harbor.
