Colonial Gardens B&B is a beautiful home located on Third Street in the heart of Sturgeon Bay within walking distance of many shops and restaurants.  We toured this impressive home, which was built in 1877.   The home was turned into one the first Inns in Door County in 1956. Here you will find peace, and homemade full breakfasts including a hot entree, fresh fruit dish, homemade muffins or coffee cake, coffee or tea and juice is delivered to your suite between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM! This Inn is beautifully decorated and as their motto attests, "Every Detail Will Delight You."


There are five suites, and an additional 2 luxury guest rooms. The Leathem Suite, named after the original owner, has two rooms, oak floors, a king 4-poster bed and a crystal chandelier - and it has a garden view! The Blue Parlor Suite also has two rooms, a 19th century queen-size canopy bed and a beautiful original plaster cast medallion. Both Leathem's and The Blue Parlor Suite have 12-foot ceilings. Anna's Suite offers a terrific view of the waters of Sturgeon Bay. Sit outside on the attached porch and watch the sunset or the moonrise. On the lower level is the Bungalow Suite, which is set in rose wall coverings and lace. This suite also has a private porch. Finally, there is the Captain's Suite with a magnificent view of the Bay. This 2-room suite has a French country pine bed, wood floors and is decorated with rich reds, which were popular in the Colonial period.

The two new guest rooms, added in 2005/2006, each have a king size bed, gas fireplace, TV with built-in DVD, and a small refrigerator.  And naturally, a full breakfast is delivered to the room each morning.  The Quiet Rose has cool tones of cream, rose and sage green, while the new Amethyst guest room is dreamlike,with lavender and mint green.
