Inn the Pines B&B is located on beautiful Bay Shore Drive, which is Third Street North out of Sturgeon Bay. As Bev and Bud, the owners say, "close to the city but with a country feel". They are right! Inn the Pines is on 5 acres of land with a barn in the back and a couple of swings on the front porch! Just minutes North of town, it offers a peak at the waters of the bay being only about 1,000 feet from the water, and an opportunity to wander through the colorful gardens and it?s namesake Pine trees while being close to the restaurants and shops. The Inn has three rooms available, each unique and charming. The Bayside Suite features a queen bed with a cherry wood headboard and a double whirlpool, and is decorated in deep burgundies and greens. The Door County Suite has hardwood floors, a double-sided fireplace facing both the double whirlpool on one side, and the Washington Island bed and a private porch on the other! Finally, the Woodside Suite combines lace and color to form a very romantic and serene feel, with a fireplace you can view from the double whirlpool and the queen size bed. A hand carved headboard and handmade quilt complete the look, and a very, very beautiful room.

Bev and Bud have owned the Inn since about 1996, but they have been Sturgeon Bay residence all their lives so they know a lot about the history of the town and which places to recommend! In fact, home that is now Inn the Pines was once owned by Bud's parents so there is history right here in the Inn! We really like this B&B. While the amenities are modern we were impressed with the richness of the oak wood wainscoting and banister on the stairway, Victorians light fixtures, and the overall comfortable feel to the Inn. The breakfast is homemade continental plus. A great choice, close to the city but with a country feel. We can see swinging on the front porch enjoying a cup of coffee, or an icy cold lemonade in this very peaceful environment.

And if you stay here, Bev told us about the Stone Quarry Park, about 4 miles north of the Inn where you can take a picnic and enjoy gorgeous Door County sunsets without a huge crowd not a lot of folks know about it! So, of course, we had to check it out and it is as Bev says a delightful little respite far from the madding crowd! We think she might be full of good tips having lived in Sturgeon Bay all her life!
