GHOSTS, HAUNTED LIGHTHOUSES OF THE GREAT LAKES – STURGEON BAY

A continuing interactive exhibit at the Door County Maritime Museum that explores the mystery surrounding paranormal activity at some of the Great Lakes’ most famous lighthouses. Information: 920-743-5958.

At Stone’s Throw Winery in Egg Harbor. Offered daily. Expand your love for wine & chocolate with a unique experience that will delight your palate! 26th ANNUAL POLAR BEAR SWIM - JACKSONPORT
Date of event: 1/01/2012

Noon sharp – don’t be late! Lakeside Park Beach in Jacksonport on Hwy 57. Take a dip in the icy waters if you dare! This event is free to participants and visitors. Participants will be required to complete a release form prior to entering the water. You may do this at the official PBC tent or download it in advance. Registration begins at 10:30 A.M., food and drinks available at 11:00 AM. Or for really early risers, a Pancake Breakfast from 8:00 to 11:00 A.M. will again be part of the festivities this year. SLEIGH RIDES AT ORCHARD COUNTRY - FISH CREEK

Location: All sleigh rides are at Lautenbach's Orchard Country Winery.

34th ANNUAL NEW YEAR'S DAY PARADE - EGG HARBOR’ FROSTY FEST
Date of event: 1/01/2012

Annual New Year’s Day Parade usually starts at the south end of Egg Harbor at 1 PM - downtown. Anyone can participate, because “you are the parade!” – this is a fun and unusual parade! Regardless the weather, the parade marches on! Lots to see and do: YMCA Icy Fun Run, live music, food vendors, shopping specials, snow sculptures ... fun for the whole family!

DOOR COUNTY WINTER WONDERLAND TOUR - 2012
Dates of event: January 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th

February 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th
March 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st

Pickup at various Sturgeon Bay lodgings between 9:30 and 10:00 AM, and in Carlsville at Door County Coffee around 10:00 AM. Trolley guests will tour/taste at an award winning winery, followed by a cozy sleigh ride through the Door’s most wintry landscapes. Top it off with a fireside lunch at the romantic White Gull Inn. ANNUAL CANDLELIGHT SKI – STURGEON BAY
Date of event: 1/28/12

This very popular event is held annually at Whitefish Dunes State Park, 3275 Clark Lake Road, on the last Saturday of January. Join the Friends of Whitefish Dunes for a night of skiing and fun on snow covered, candle lit trails. The picnic shelter will be open and the fireplace lit. Hot beverages and cookies will be provided to warm the insides and provide energy. A park sticker is required to join in the evening event, but the event is free.
