Cave Point ParkCave Point Park
Sevastopol

Spectacular! A must! If you do not stop at Cave Point Park, you will not truly know Door County!

OK. Where is Sevastopol you ask? Not one of your familiar towns in Door County? Head over to the Lake side, and head south on Hwy 57, past Baileys Harbor, then past Jacksonport. In a moment you will see a sign for Whitefish Dunes State Park, and Cave Point.

Follow the Cave Point signs and find one of the treasures in Door County (at the end of County WD)! This beautiful 19 acre park has picnic areas and rest rooms too. But the beauty is in the unusual rock formations that make up the “cave.” You have to be very careful here with kids, because there is a tremendous drop off with no fences o hold you back or tell you where to stop – so mind the little ones and mind yourself too.

There is a path that leads off to the left that will bring you to an area where you can “climb” down (really stop down) to a plateau of rock. From here, the vista is nice of the Green Bay waters. Closer up to the “cave” formation, you can see the waves lapping against the curved formation below. On a windy day, this is one great show! The waves aren’t lapping, they are crashing, and when they do, the water sprays all the way up the curved walls to the top where you are in a glorious show of force and beauty – a good 20 or more feet into the air! It looks like a 4th of July fireworks, only with crisp, crystal clear water! It is a wonderful experience.

The scene is just beautiful, with age-old rock formations, the smell of pine trees, sun and water – and the sound of the waves! Your senses will delight in this unique spot!

We have visited Cave Point is all seasons, and it is a site to behold in all. Cave Point is a photo opportunity and if you time it just right, you can catch a picture of yourself just when the huge spray is behind you! What a remembrance.

In winter, be especially careful of slippery rocks and ice formations – but the majesty of Cave Point covered in snow and ice is breathtaking too. In fall, with the trees changing, it is colorful and grand. Get a seasonal shot in all for seasons – then frame them up for a very special tribute to this Door County gem!

There are public restrooms and some picnic tables available, but come for the view which is just breathtaking. This is a must stop, which is a little out of the way, but take the time to enjoy this Door County Gem!

You could say this is a three pronged review.

WHITE GUILL INN – FISH CREEK
We ate breakfast, both mornings, at the White Gull Inn in Fish Creek.  We’ve eaten, and stayed there, before and for breakfast, it’s a must stop.  My wife had what she always has, a half order of their Stuffed French Toast with “extra crispy” bacon.  She had that BOTH mornings we were there and just loves it!  I had the Corned Beef Hash one morning and Eggs Benedict with hash browns the next.  Excellent.  Service, atmosphere, and the food were everything we knew it would be.  Just great!

CASEY’S BBQ & SMOKEHOUSE Dinner was at Casey’s BBQ in Egg Harbor and just down the road from the Newport.  Casey’s is also a place we’d been to before, loved it, and had no qualms about going again.  We had the brisket and it was extremely tender and flavorful.  Their house sauce is fantastic!!  I forget what sides my wife had but I got the beans & rice and the macaroni & cheese.  Both were terrific along with the brisket.  A couple bottles of cold beer and the night was complete.

NEWPORT RESORT – EGG HARBOR – DECEMBER 2012
The day after Christmas (2012) my wife and I went up to Door County for a quick two day getaway.  We have been up many times in warm weather but never in the winter, and we especially wanted to see how the decorations were. (they were great!!)  We stayed at the Newport Resort in Egg Harbor.  We’d been there once before, liked it, and thought we’d stay again and luckily were able to book a room for one night when most places required two or more days, if they even had an opening at all.  For a very reasonable rate we got a nice two bedroom, two bath suite with a full kitchen living room, and fireplace.  As far as I’m concerned it’s one of the best bargains on the peninsula when you consider what you pay and what you get.  I’ve paid much more for much less elsewhere.  It was perfect for a romantic getaway.  Cleanliness, service, all top notch, no complaints at all.

We love going to Door County, it’s always a treat for us.  We try to make it up at least a few times each year and always have a good time.

Trio Restaurant - Egg Harbor
Our family had a wonderful time. The staff was very helpful and sweet to our children, age 3 and 6. We tried several different things from the menu, all very good. The portions were quite large. Be sure to try the tuna and for dessert, the chocolate cake. My daughters tried licking the plate! - Jennifer E.

Trio - Egg Harbor
REVIEW: This restaurant has long been one of my favorites. If you're looking for a traditional "supper club" atmosphere, this isn't for you. But if you want something more sophisticated and elegant without being overpriced, you'll love Trio. The menu is small, but all the dishes are wonderful. The entrees are mostly French or Italian in origin. The entrees offer a unique twist on traditional favorites, in addition to some creative new combinations. Service is almost always wonderful; you won't sit for a half hour waiting for your water glass to be refilled. The garden-bistro decor adds to the dining experience. Desserts are wonderful, particularly the tiramisu. Be forewarned that there can be a very long wait if you go on the weekend or at a popular time of day. I like to go very early (5-6 p.m.) I don't have to wait an hour for a seat. This restaurant only serves dinner. -Sue S.

The Shoreline - Gills Rock This place has it all. The views at sunset are breathtaking. The service is friendly and casual. The place tends to get crowded on sunny weekend evening, but there is a nice bar with a good selections of wine and beers to help the wait.

The food is creative and excellently prepared with an emphasis on local cuisine. I've been going there for years and always look forward to an exceptional dining experience. Claudia M

Wilson's - Ephraim
The ice cream is the best in Door County, but their meals are terrible. The burgers were received were GRAY and tasteless. Pass on dinner and get a double scoop cone - the ice cream is well worth the wait. - Jim W.

Wilson's Restaurant - Ephraim
If you didn't already know, when in Door County you MUST stop at Wilson's for a burger and ice cream - absolutely fabulous!!! -Terree J.

Wilson's - Ephraim
Wilson's is a great 50's style burger and ice cream joint restaurant. They have basic, but good food (hamburgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, etc...) Save room for dessert as their Sundays are HUGE!! Each booth has a little jukebox that has old time music. Sam P.

Fred and Fuzzy's - Sister Bay
We wouldn't miss lunch at this most picturesque bayside eatery. Parking is a little far, and the up hill hike back to your car is a bit of exercize, but the experience is worth it. I often wonder why there aren't more scenic restaurants. We came at 11 AM, and they offered us lounges on the pier where we relaxed until opening at 11:30 AM. Got the best table with shade. We had the delicately pan-fried perch, and it was delishand the cole slaw is special. Service by Susan was solid. The begging ducks are a little nuisance, but a special treat and may one day rival the goats at Al Johnson's. - Jim A.

P.C. Junction - Baileys Harbor
I love the train!!!!! the burger i had was amazing, but i couldn't finish it all. I had it for breakfast before I left the next day. the stuff was very helpful in guiding me what to try (I didn't want to pick something and not like it)I recommend p.c. junction to every friend that heads up north

The English Inn - Fish Creek Great supper club with the usual supper club favorites. My husband is a huge fan of clam chowder so he tries a bowl everywhere he goes and claims this is the best one from coast to coast! - Heidi K.

JJ's/La Puerta - Sister Bay
JJ's is the best restaurant on the peninsula. JJ himself is so laid back and cool, and the waitstaff is fun and all have grewat customer service. Dave makes the best margs - and they have Red Stripe beer! The nachos, quesadillas, and enchiladas are the best here and could easily rival any authentic Mexican restaurant. Just walking into this restaurant makes you feel like you're living the Jimmy Buffet lifestyle of good drinks and great food. Totally fun. :) - Melissa

JJ" and La Puerta This is an awesome place to eat. We have been there over 5 times for supper. The food is exelent for the price and the laid back atmosphere is nice. They give you free chips and salsa which is a nice treat. After you are done eating you can go watch the sunset at a nice pebble beach just behind the place. Very kid friendly.

JJ's La Puerta - Sister Bay Love to have guacamole (4 star) and margarita s on the patio. - Jim A.

Shipwrecked - Egg Harbor
We really enjoyed our lunch at Shipwrecked and had great service while there. My husband, two daughters, and myself all had different items from the menu and we were very happy with our delicious choices. I wish I had known this establishment is supposedly "haunted" before our trip; it would have made our visit even more interesting. I would and have recommended Shipwrecked to others. -Vicki D.

Greenwood Supper Club - Fish Creek
Excellent food and service. We will be back! -Debbie T.

Inn at Cedar Crossing - Sturgeon Bay
This has been a favorite place to eat for my husband and I. We started going to Door County in the off season before we were married and we also got married in Door County. We had our rehearsal dinner at the Inn at Cedar Crossing and my family and my husband's family loved the food and atmosphere. We are planning to stay at the Inn at Cedar Crossing for the first since they were offering a speacial which included a gift certificate for their restaurant. we plan on making continued visits to the restaurant for their excellent food for all times of the day. - Rebecca K.

The Chef's Hat- Ephraim
By far the best salad I have ever had! I ordered the Cranberry Walnut salad and it was the perfect blend of fruits and veggies. My husband also ordered a salad and it actually filled him up! The prices were very reasonable and the staff was very nice. Also has a great view of the lake from many seats in the restaurant. - Jacki M.

Inn at Cedar Crossing Restaurant - Sturgeon Bay
We ate there on the recommendation of this site. The waitress was friendly and I went with the special, flank steak with mushrooms in a chipotle sauce. It was excellent. They made the steak exactly as I asked. My husband's filet was perfect. We liked it so much we came back on Friday night again. I had the ribeye and he had the filet again. Both were excellent. Would definitely recommend this place! - Evie B.

Door County Confectionery
I've had more than my fair share of Wisconsin Dells fudge, which I love. The Bear Paw fudge here is the best that I have ever tasted! We had to go back to get more as we left town as we had eaten everything we bought! Nice people both in Sister Bay and in Sturgeon Bay. Great taffy apples. - Evie B.

Shipwrecked - Egg Harbor
We stopped for lunch wanted to taste the beer brewed here. We each had a sampler. It was pretty good. I had a pork chop sandwich and he had the hamburger. Both were very good. The soup of the day was beer cheese soup. Strong tasting as it was made with their porter ale, but we liked it. It is definitely a bar atmosphere but was fine for lunch. - Evie B.

Sonny's Pizzeria - Sturgeon Bay
We wanted to stay in as it was cold and rainy and asked the front desk who delivered. She recommended Sonny's. The pizza arrived hot and fresh in about 25 minutes. We ordered thin crust and I have never had such a thin crust before. It was great. Would definitely order from here again when you just don't feel like going out. - Evie B.

Whistling Swan - Fish Creek
By far our favorite restaurant in Fish Creek, though White Gull Inn is a close second. Superb food, quiet intimate setting and excellent service. What more could you ask? Well worth the price! - Sara C.

Gibraltar Grill - Fish Creek
My husband and I spent a wonderful winter weekend in Door County recently and had the perfect dinner at the Gibraltar Grill. Neither one of us had dined there before and were anxious to try this fairly new restaurant. I had the Walleye Dinner and my husband had crablegs (a special for the night). I have to say that the walleye was the best I have had since a vacation to Minnesota a few years back. Just fantastic! We were seated by the big fireplace in the dining room which added to the wonderful experience. Very attentive and friendly staff. Highly recommended. - Monica H.

Mission Grille - Sister Bay
We love to have lunch al fresco under the towering trees at this marvelous restaurant. The salads and sandwiches are to die for, and an evening dinner inside can be very romantic. Extensive wine and beer selections. Dinner is not cheap. - Jim A.

Espresso Lane - Baileys Harbor
Wow we have been happily surprised by another local business in Door County. The Espresso Lane in Baileys Harbor has a great atmosphere and the best coffee and bakery goods in the county. They have just moved to a new location next to the Common House restaurant in Baileys Harbor and the new place is great. They now have a great deck out front where you can enjoy your lunch and take in the great view of the water. You can truly taste the freshness in their bakery goods like the jumbo cinnamon roles which are a meal in themselves. They also have homemade Door County Cherry Bread Pudding which is to die for. The owner Kathy is a very friendly little lady who loves to chat when they aren't so busy which isn't too often in the summer. Sometimes you might have to wait a little while for your food but believe me it is worth it. My wife and I have now made the Espresso Lane a regular stop for us when we are in the area. -Scott & Jessica D.

Donny's Glidden Lodge - Sturgeon Bay
This was recommended to us and it was absolutely perfect for a romantic dinner for two. The food was incredible and staff very friendly. The lodge has a very magnificent view of the water. The prices are very reasonable for the amount and quality of food you get. I highly recommend it if your looking for a great romantic dinner. We will be back! - Dagmara

The Hitching Post - Sturgeon Bay
One thing you overlooked was the fact that the "cheeseburger" at the hitching post is the best cheeseburger in wisconsin followed closely by the cheese plazza in madison
-David L.

The Bayside Tavern- Fish Creek
This is a very nice place to eat. They have a good fish fry in fridays. They have a pool table you can play on after you order. Very good price for very good food. - Alex

Baileys Sunset Motel & Cottages - Baileys Harbor
Just a nice note to thank you guys for giving us a wonderful anniversary weekend stay at the awesome Baileys Sunset Motel & Cottages in Baileys Harbor.

When we first arrived, we saw a handsome property, that was well maintained, clean and inviting. Nestled in the woods the Motel and Cottages were very charming. Located right on 57, a few minutes outside of Bailey's Harbor. The area was quiet and relaxing and we NEVER heard any cars or noise from the roadway...the motel is set back from the roadway.

Tall trees, nice landscaping and the property is built onto some "Dells" like ground formations.....we got great views outside the back of our motel room windows.....looking at thousands of years of earth.

The staff was awesome, attentive, open, friendly, and very giving....we enjoyed a wonderful bottle of Simon's Creek Cherry Wine for our anniversary, on behalf of the staff of Bailey's Sunset Motel & Cottages.

A small gravel road leads you around the property......although we did not socialize with any other guests, everyone was quiet and respectful and enjoying their holidays. At night we missed out on the open fires and chatting with our neighbors, sorry guys we were on our 20 year anniversary and just having too much fun!

We enjoyed the hiking trails on the property, which lead you on several small little hikes, one through berries bushes (ouch watch out for those spikey vines thou) and a mini pine forest....which was very cool.....we walked the little hikes several times a day.....each walk took less than 10 minutes each....

We also ate some yummy apples from the apple trees on the property, and we had a wonderful room #4. The property is well maintained and very friendly folks! We had clean bedding and towels, the rooms were made up in a timely manner.

The room had a cabin like feel and smell and we felt like we were not in a motel room, but in a large cabin in the woods. The windows allowed in cross ventilation and cooling breezes. The shower was hot and had slip proof pads.

There was a coffee machine, which we did not get to use....extra pillows and warm woodsy inspired blankets.
The beds were very cozy and it was so nice to sleep on at the end of each long day. We also had a mini fridge in which we stored extra pops and other nibbles we acquired while on holiday.

There was plenty of spots for our doggie to play and go potty, plenty of trash bins for the poops. Our dog Simon was welcomed with open "paws" and we brought his own little bed which he slept on when not with us. He went everywhere with us.

Bailey's Harbor is a short 10 minute walk away....a quaint, quiet little town with several shops and a wonderful safe, walk out beach called Ridges Beach.
It is dog friendly and we went twice a day for a dip and our poochie to swim.....the water is cool and fresh and it made his northern breed coat so soft and cuddly.

Door County is very dog friendly.......everywhere we went our poochie was welcomed inside and outside. The people of Door County are very friendly and laid back and we appreciated that. We found new spots to enjoy, Cave Point Park, and we had a lovely lunch 20 feet from the pounding surf of the lake...it was awesome.

The only thing that we did not like was the motel lights being turned off outside the motel at night....several nights we came home very late and it was so dark, we had trouble getting the key in the door. Otherwise everything was WONDERFUL!

Thanks and we will see you guys again this winter or spring of '10

- Laura and Shawn Ehrke and Simon  too! Barrington,  Illinois

Homestead Suites - Fish Creek
Homestead Suites in Fish Creek is so warm and inviting. The hotel is very clean and well-kept, and the décor is beautiful. For warm weather vacations they offer an outdoor pool and an outdoor hot tub, but we especially like to visit in the wintertime. We love sitting in the outdoor hot tub when it's snowing! Also, after a long winter hike we can come back and relax in the indoor pool, indoor hot tub, and sauna. We always get a room with a whirlpool and fireplace, which just adds to the wonderful atmosphere. The breakfasts have a wide variety of items to choose from and are a great start to the day. The staff is so personable, and they do everything they can to make your stay memorable. I highly recommend it!  - Patricia H.

Bay Shore Inn - Sturgeon Bay
We had a family reunion in Door County with lodging at the Bay Shore Inn and was very pleased with everything about the condo and location. The only thing we would change is that we should have planned to stay longer! The condo was well-stocked, spacious, and very clean. We had a 2-bedroom suite with water view and had a great view of the bay from every room in the place except the bathrooms. The bed was very comfortable and we slept great. Also, the management was very accommodating with our group of about 10 families. Sharing the condo with another family gave us a great value for our money too.  -L. W.

Bay Shore Inn - Sturgeon Bay We had never been to Door County before and wanted to stay right on the water. A friend had been here so I chose it figuring we could explore other options when we arrived.  We never left.  Didn't even want to leave to go home.  This place started feeling like home.  We got the premiere suite right on the water front.  It was huge!  Full kitchen, table for 6, breakfast bar, living room with 2 couches, 2 full baths, 2 bedrooms, each with a king size bed.  We even had a walk in closet and extra sink area in the master bedroom.  The best was the deck that was probably 30 ft long.  You could enter from either the master bedroom or the living room.  It is right on the bay.  What a beautiful view from all of the rooms.  We looked at the other units in case we couldn't get this one again and they were all very nice.  The furnishings are rather plain but are all that you need.  Comfortable bed too.  One of the best surprises was how clean everything was.  Some of the cleaning ladies have been there for 15 years and treat this as if it were their home.  I even saw one cleaning the bathroom floor on her hands and knees. Very nice ladies.  The front desk staff was wonderful too.  We would definitely go back.  - Evie B.

Ashbrooke Inn in Egg Harbor
This is a consistently good experieince.  This is adult only lodging with very nice rooms; it offers a quiet and relaxing atmosphere that does not dissapoint. Good service,  an exercise room, completely non-smoking, multiple room options including fireplaces and jacuzzi options.  Very Nice - my wife and I always choose Ashbrooke.  - Mary D.

Scofield House B&B - Sturgeon Bay
The owners did a remarkable job in making their home feel like it was our home. They live in a separate portion of the house, and they were always there if we needed a place to eat, something to do, or just for some chit chat. The second we walked in we felt completely taken care of. One of the owners was mowing the lawn when we came up, and dropped everything just to help my husband carry the bags to our room so I wouldn't have to. With that being my first impression from the place and the owners I knew this was going to be great. The decor is unbelievable, and still with such a feel of home. The rooms have enormous bathrooms, some pretty ornate, with stained glass windows and oak encased double whirlpools. Beds are SOO comfy, and you get 2 pillows each: one regular and one down so you get one that's perfect for you. HUGE video selection, and a few boardgames. The tea, coffee and treats are left out from 3pm on, and refreshed throughout the evening so if you decide you want to go and watch the stars from the porch swing with a cup of tea, you can! Breakfast was just great! I can't say enough nice things about this place. - Danielle L.

Eagle Harbor Inn - Ephraim
We stayed in the main B&B building, not the suites. We had the "Great Room" It was advertised as a B&B but has more of a hotel feel. We did have a very nice time. Double whirlpool, fireplace, down comforters, and a cute little wooded balcony. The bathroom was huge. Staff was very helpful, and the breakfast was just great. The rest of our trip in D.C. I was CRAVING those cherry stuffed waffles!! Excellent.

Again, not the homey feel you get from a traditional B&B, And that's where I saw it advertised on. BUT as an Inn, this place is just great!!
- Danielle L.

Nordic Lodge - Sister Bay
We have been coming to Door County to the Nordic Lodge for over 10 years. The hospitality and welcome feeling from the owners, Peter and Laurie Culp is top notch. We love the cleanliness, location and just always have a great time in Sister Bay. They always have lots of information on where to go and what to see. We look forward to coming every year. Thanks Peter and Laurie.
- Bruce B.

Village Green Lodge - Ephraim
My husband and I have stayed at the Village Green almost yearly  for a number of years. The best thing about our stay is always Sue and Steve-they are very warm and friendly. The breakfasts are great!  The pool area is beautiful with many flowers, it is in a protected area on the west of the building so is warm in the afternoon with sun shining in even when the day is a little cool.  We have stayed both in the regular rooms and in a suite and both are nicely decorated, clean and cozy. A plus for us is that they only accept guests age 16 and over but we have only seen adults there on our stays.  We have children of our own but it is nice to get away to a quiet place once in a while-usually while the kids are at camp.  Many things are near by including the Old Post Office Restaurant which does a great fish boil and Wilsons which is always our 1st stop. One draw back is that Ephriam is a dry town but the rooms have a small refrigerator just right for your own bottle of wine. - Cindy C.

The Alpine Resort - Egg Harbor
My family has been going to the Alpine Resort since I was born, and I know that my father's family was going there before that.  I have always had the most wonderful experiences at the Alpine.  I started going as a child and now I go with my fiancé for romantic weekends in Door County.  There is a game room, nightly events in the summer, outdoor pool, private beach, golf course, bikes and boats that you can rent for free, free pool games, ping pong, shuffleboard and many other things.  This is a great place for the family or for a romantic weekend.  The in house restaurant The Hof, is amazing, especially at breakfast.  The staff has always been friendly and accommodating, even knowing us by name after all of these years!  One of the highlights for me as a child were the hayrides that were on Tuesday nights, which still run in the summer.  I love this resort and could never imagine myself staying anywhere else. - Lis T.

Church Hill Inn - Sister Bay
Church Hill Inn is a beautifully kept property with peaceful adult atmosphere, great breakfast buffet, and relaxing heated pool and exercise room.  Reservation staff made sure we got a room to meet our needs, and it was lovely, with private deck and bay window overlooking English garden.  Made use of the welcoming common area for reading and relaxing.  Within walking distance to fine dining and the glorious sunsets over Green Bay.
- Karen B

The Shallows Resort - Egg Harbor
My husband and I just got back from our Door County vacation. We got a room at the Shallows motel on the recommendation of a friend. We were BLOWN AWAY
by the entire resort. It's right on the water, and our motel room faced right on the bay. What really made our stay, though, was the people and the atmosphere. Both of us came to Door County as kids, so we came armed with vague memories of our favorite activities. The owners and the staff were able to decipher the little we remembered into actual places. Plus, they gave us some great recommendations for things to do around the area that we didn't know about. The location of the Shallows was great--they're almost exactly in the middle of the county, so we never had to drive for more than half an hour to get anywhere. The Shallows was such a relaxed, open place. They've got a lot of shoreline, and chairs everywhere to lounge around in. It seemed to be a very family-oriented resort--we saw lots of kids playing in the pool and in the sand. (I liked the pool too...I tried a swim in Green Bay, but brrrr!!! Luckily, the hot tub is only a few yards away from the beach.)We're definitely coming back to the Shallows, although we don't know where we're going to stay next time. In addition to the motel (very clean and roomy), they've got townhouses and cabins and even a few large houses to
stay in. We may go up in our accomodations as our family grows. It's pretty obvious from the review, but I'll say it again--if you like relaxation and water, the Shallows is a GREAT place to stay in Door County! -Becky B.

Thorp House Inn and Cottages - Fish Creek
My wife & I have been staying at the Thorp House Inn twice a year for the last ten years.  Beautiful place to stay. The staff makes us feel like this is our home away from home.  We like the location, right in Fish Creek, But on a quiet street a block off of Hwy. 42.
- David R.

Somerset Inn & Suites - Ephraim
My husband and I loved our stay there. It was very romantic and relaxing. We stayed in their beautiful luxury suite this winter. They have a huge indoor pool and whirlpool, and gave us many amenities with our room. The owners were very friendly, and we are definitely going back to stay there this year. - Joy P.

Chanticleer Guest House - Sturgeon Bay
We had an excellent 3 nights at the Chanticleer Guest House. Both innskeepers were very friendly and attentive. Check-in was accompanied with a tour of the beautiful grounds. The private trails available on the grounds were excellent for a slow nature walk or an invigorating run. There were fresh baked homemade cookies and fresh fruit available all day long. And the breakfasts were to die for (also homemade and delivered to our room). Our room was perfect with the double whirlpool and quaint decorations. The inground heated pool and sauna were also perfect ways to relax. The Chanticleer was a wonderful place to relax and enjoy Door County.
- Jennifer S.

Main Street Motel - Fish Creek
Hi, a friend and I stayed at the Main Street Motel over the 2003 Memorial Day weekend. It was a great place to stay. The rooms, with two large beds, were roomy. The ceiling fan and windows on two sides allowed us to have perfect ventilation. The location was great. We walked to see the sunset on the bay and to do Fish Creek shopping and dining. We drove to many other areas as well. We would definitely stay here again. If we had stayed longer we would have had time to enjoy the outdoor seating.
-Janet A.

Eagle Harbor Inn - Ephraim
This B&B has a wonderful, friendly staff, double-jacuzzis and mini-kitchens in all of the suites, and a truly amazing, homemade breakfast. It's a short stroll from "downtown" Ephraim and right across the street from the public beach. A 1-minute drive takes you to Peninsula State Park. And Ephraim is centrally located, so you're never far from any of the other Door County towns.

Beautiful candles and every fragrance I could imagine!! They make the candles right there and you can watch. Kids made their own with the help of the owner. Shop is very classy and friendly. Mom, Dad and the kids loved the experience and we will go back. - Sandy R.

Red Sock Yarn

I found a new fiber source at Red Sock Yarns in Fish Creek when we were up in March. I found everything I needed to work on a special project for my nephew. Specialty yarns, wide assortment of needles/hooks/patterns. Feed your fiber addiction. - Marcia D.

ACME Beads - Sturgeon Bay
Acme beads is a great little bead store. The owners are wonderful and their very friendly dog comes out to say hi to the customers. Lots of great literature and great beads, especially the beaker of beads, the owner mixes different beads that look great together and puts them in a test tube. They are fantastic!! - Bridget W.

The City Farmer - Ephraim
The City Farmer is by far the nicest shop in Door County. Located on Hwy 42 in Ephraim. My wife and I filled the car with stuff for our house before driving back to Lake Fores.. - J.C.

Gage, Inc - Sister Bay
Gage is hands-down, bar-none, the nicest store in Door County. They have everything from glassware to furniture to stationary to candles (the same type of thing you see in a lot of stores) but somehow the stuff at Gage is always more elegnat, better quality, and a *lot* more chic. Every item is beautiful and well chosen, albeit sometimes a bit on the pricey side. Moreover, everything is thoughtfully and carefully laid out in an lovely building with great flowers. Definitely worth a look. -Kathy H.

J Jeffery Jewelers - Fish Creek
He is an artist, and if you like custom jewelry on the modern side, this is the place to go. We have purchased items in this shop, and were very satisfied. And the shop is intriguing ö lots of interesting, artsy things to look at. - Dan S.

This is a delightful weekend! The lighthouses in Door County are magnificent to see, especially Cana Island am Eagle Bluff (in Peninsula State Park). You can try to tour the lighthouses on your own, or there are organized excursions, even by boat, to take in many of these beautiful lighthouses that helped guide many a ship through tough and rough waters. Even if you miss this weekend, be sure to schedule some time to visit a few of Door County's best if you have an interest in these fascinating structures.
- Dan S. - Lighthouse Walk

The Door County area proved to have something for everyone in our group. I was the only one in our group who had visited Door County and was thrilled that this quaint county now holds a special place in my friends' hearts. It was everything I said it would be! For the nature lovers and photographers in our group, we enjoyed the sunset cruise from Gills' Rock, Penninsula State Park beach, Cana Island Lighthouse, and criss-crossing between the main roads. The shoppers enjoyed every single bay and harbor and all points in between. We all enjoyed the Penninsula Players and regret that we couldn't stay longer. The locals and merchants were so friendly and welcoming. We will return soon to visit our favorite places and take in some new sights. - Dee C.
