Fish Boil
A Door County Tradition
Fish Boils date back to the early settlers of Door County. Most Door County Fish Boils include a whitefish that has been boiled up in a huge pot over a roaring flame. The fish is them skimmed out, and served with boiled potatoes, cole slaw and other side dishes, and usually is topped off with a slice of cherry pie for desert! The fish boil is as much an event as it is a dinner! Out back, there is a huge fire going, and a fish boil master dumping in the salt and the fish and stoking the fire with kerosene to really get that kettle a-boiling! And the diners are witness to it all! Sit outside and enjoy the show – this really is as much a part of it as eating! Here are some of the places to get a fish boil – call for reservations to be safe! And tell them DoorCountyNavigator.com sent you!
