Fun Family Place

Up in Sister Bay, you can have a super fun time at Johnson’s Park, which includes not only mini-golf, but batting cages, an arcade and even Go–Karts! A family-owned business since 1964, Johnson’s Park has a lot to offer.

Our crew has been here many times, and we enjoy it each and every time. The 18 hole mini-golf course is exceptionally well-done, with a water theme integrated into and throughout the course.

There is a huge waterfall, with a cave passage beneath it, a water wheel, and streams that flow though and around the course. In some areas, you step to the next hole across stepping stones that cross the fast-flowing river of water.

The holes are challenging enough, and most offer a unique view of the Go-Cart area or some water feature. The surrounding landscaping is also beautiful with pine trees, grass and flowers edging the holes and encircling you at every turn.

On the back nine, there is a water hole (the 14th) where you actually want to go into the water (hint, hint). It is a fun course, offering enough challenges even for the avid mini-golfer. Perfect for families, couples, everyone. You will have a great time golfing at Johnson’s.

Go-Karting at Johnson’s Park

The Go-Kart track twists and turns, giving you views of the min-golf course and the road ahead.  There are two-person Go-Karts – perfect for the little ones and an adult, and single karts as well.  The ride is fun, and certainly long enough to enjoy many laps around the blacktop track.  Rules are clearly posted, so be certain to abide by them all!  It is a great addition to the park, as you can shoot a round on the nice mini-golf course, then head to the Go-Kart track to test your skills and get exhilarated!

Batting Cages at Johnson’s Park

The batting cages, also on the grounds, offer another fun diversion and were very busy on the day we reviewed the course.  Both kids and adults keep the bats swinging in the cages, improving their skills or just having fun.  The pitches can be adjusted for speed, so just about anyone can have a good time. Bats and helmets are provided.

Haven’t had enough fun yet?  Head into the arcade room, and enjoy skee ball and some electronic games too.  Soft drink machines are provided, as well as popcorn, ice cream and candy if you need a little snack.

There is even a small playground area for the little ones, with swings and a slide.  Nice, clean bathroom facilities are right on the grounds as well.

We spoke to the owners after our fun tour, and discovered that they have a lot of returning guests to their park, who come time after time, each time they come up to the Door County Peninsula.
