Shops : Sister Bay
Tannenbaum Holiday Shop
11054 Hwy 42
N Sister Bay
920-854-5004
This is the holiday shop of holiday shops – there is none better, none more complete, none as detailed, no other that will give you a quite the sense of awe you get when you walk in this magnificent shop! If you don’t walk out of here spending at least $100, you are not a true holiday shopper, or you did not look around hard enough!
This is not just a Christmas shop! They have lots of items for Fall and Thanksgiving, Halloween, St. Patrick’s Day, 4th of July, Hanukah, and Easter and lots, lots more. Halloween ornaments, trees, houses, lights! Thanksgiving, – you name it, and you will find quite a selection from figurines of pilgrims to horns of plenty. There are flags, slate welcome and holiday signs, lights of every color and shape imaginable – it is fantasyland for the holiday lover!
And, they even do floral arrangements (dry, not fresh) in sprays, swags and wreathes:
- They sell pieces that they have already made for each season OR
- They do custom pieces to your specifications, colors and likings! Wow!
The shop itself is in an old church that dates back to around the turn-of-the century – so it is inspiring in and of itself. You walk into a foyer packed with items, and you are immediately dazzled! Take a left and you walk into a room that artistically displays the Department 56™ line of Christmas houses and accessories, like Dickens Village (which we collect!), Christmas in the City and more. The owners did a magnificent job on the displays, and adults and kids alike will look at the detail and magnitude of the displays with sheer delight. Tannenbaum is one of their “Premier Resellers.”
Ornaments
The main room is packed with trees loaded with treasures. One or two trees have nothing but Christopher Radko ornaments – these are some of the most beautiful ornaments made today, and Radko uses many of the old molds from the 1800’s to mold his ornaments. His use of glitter is second to none – as his ornaments sparkle like no others! And Tannenbaum has the largest selection under one roof we have ever seen!
Of course, they carry the Old World ornament line (each ornament comes with a little story/history of that design), spun glass ornaments in shapes of snowmen, santas, swans, trees, doves.
Angels, Santas, Ceramics, Plates, Water Colors and More!
There is so much in this shop, you will want to spend a lot of time here, and walk away with a lot of treasures.
Some of the Santa lines they carry are Lynn Haney, even Russian, hand-carved wooden, signed santas, Byer’s Choice™, Possible Dreams™ (all santas!), Santa’s Workshop™, hand-carved pieces by both “Pauline Connors” and “Joe Connors,” Erik Rankle™ snowmen, santas and more (Erik lives in Ellison Bay), and Jim Shore™ resin pieces with his unique quilting pattern – santas snowmen, fish, lighthouses and lots more. David Frykman™ is well represented here as well – with his unique resin figurines in nativity pieces, firemen, policemen, golfers, fishermen and a Tannenbaum exclusive, “Door County Santa (only available here!) – a santa holding a replica church of the Tannenbaum shop! A truly beautiful piece!
And angels galore! You want angels? You will find angels of all kinds here at Tannenbaum. We toured the shop and saw dozens of different kinds of angels, some ceramic, some with fiber optics – you will find an angel that pleases you for sure! Or if you have a friend that collects angels, this is the place to find that perfect gift!
Original water colors by Dave Hackett, beautiful table runners and hand towels, the Cat’s Meow™ wooden houses, a whole snowman section loaded with cookies jars, ornaments, and glass plates; a Nativity section second to none, folk art by Vaillancourt, Fitz & Flloyd pieces, the Peggy Karr™ collection of plates and ornaments – all fused glass that are colorful, delightful with santas, poinsettias, evergreens and more. OK, enough? There’s more!
The Tannenbaum Holiday Shop has two stories – the main floor, and the loft! The long stairway leading up is loaded with decorations as well, and upstairs - well, wander up – you may find a bargain! I picked up a 10-inch mercury glass Santa once for $10!
We love this shop, and we shop here frequently. If you don’t know about this place already, you do now! We have had nothing but friendly service from great people at the Tannenbaum. So make Tannenbaum a definite stop on your trip to Door County – and please tell them that DoorCountynavigator.com sent you!
