You can find John of Mayberry's Carriages in the summer in Egg Harbor during the days, and in Ephraim in the evenings. Visit his website and call to be sure!
At festivals, you will see John and his team of horses offering wagon rides. We have been on every ride that John offers, and we can tell you from our experience, this is a terrific experience. His gorgeous, white carriage, the clop of horse-hooves, and the clean, fresh air — it doesn’t get much better than this. We toured Ephraim in the evening with John, and the 30-minute tour was awesome — you see lots of Ephraim, from the waterfront to the cedars.
In the winter, we have done sleigh rides with John — talk about a Robert Frost moment! If you have never been on a sleigh ride in Door County, you are missing out. When winter is here, try it out — you will also think that the sound of the sleigh gliding through fresh snow, the bells on the horses, the winding path through the wood (yes, you CAN stop by the snowy woods) is unbeatable.
Do it! Having a wedding? Call John — he can take the bride and groom on a ride they will never forget. Visit John’s website, Mayberry's Carriages, and see what they have to offer. Call ahead and set up a special ride. Whether it’s a wagon, a sleigh or a carriage you will create pleasing memories — don’t forget the camera! And when you climb aboard, don’t forget to tell John you found him on DoorCountyNavigator.com - that helps keep this site alive and well for you! Have fun — you will!
